Ship is nice , design is like a , bit of old age far rim world ! as if , she was not build ,for a fleet to serve an empire but to full fill power need of a dictator / general .
It's a strong design , but I must say this ,do they want TEXTURES ?
Dont they want to see just clean / plain render ?

love the design...... looks like its an old Gallente faction ship.

make sure that your submission follows the rules... it would be a shame that yours were disqualified because you did not strip the textures from the rendering when you made the 6 views of the ship.

It's called constructive feedback. I'd be very happy to receive comments of that calibre on any work i did to help me improve.

Currently anything in my gallery is basically crap. Not much of an artist. I do plan on trying to get something done to submit in this comp though, so I'd be very happy to receive feedback on it if I get it done :)

Then they're not real artists, grow up. Artists' must absorb critique and learn everything they can from mistakes. When you tell an artist "That looks awesome! nothing is wrong at all!" You increase the chance for hurting the artist's improvement since he/she receives no proper feedback. If they never show up again from a single critique then that says something about his/her artistic integrity. Try making it in this industry if you can't even take a single piece of critique, good luck.

they are artists, just artists that need slow feed back not overwhelming amount that will make them feel as if they suck at it when they don't, next time give it back slowly not in a over haul of what and how they screwed up on everything.

sry borne for making this a battlefield i believe what you submitted is better than what these 3 had to offer to this contest.

fair warning to you, if you burn somone else's critism constuctive or not, they typically turn up the heat, so its your fault if he leaves after my extended critism you forced me to use, hope you're happy.

needs a bit more dynamic shape and more defition to which faction or technology tree it comes from however this ship can be easily tweaked into looking like something that may belong in eve but currently there seems to be no inspiration from eve on this ship.

Also I hate to say it but composition is a bit weak, probably diluted by unessecary details on the ship.

also a side note, 1000 meters its a long battlecruiser or stubby battleship also there is a ship already called the Hyperion, its an assault battleship in eve. An average cruiser is only 400 meters on thier longest beam.

Depends how you interpet and under read things.
The TBH or no offense is probably the worst way possible. What you really meant to say 'youll rather make nuclear kittens and throw them into orphanages after hearing this aka 'most insulting way possible' signal which is something I really dont want.

I rather spill what I feel right off the bat and give the artist the raw information of what I think makes his entry 'weak' in comparison to the stronger ones running around on the contest.

The guy is a good artist, he is a bit short on meeting the qualifications for the contest, and for alot of artists here at deviant art ITS UNFAIR. I have one advantage alot of them dont, which is I play the game, I know how important any ship that gets put into the game is because the fact that is the ONLY way a player is expressed in the game not some avatar in fancy armor, these ships need to have all the CHARACTER they can get becuase that is the tall order they have to fulfill. Im quite angry that by default, he as well as many other good artist are disqualified becuase the ship they've designed ISNT Eve.

and it all comes down to you, and your personal opinion, when most people don't even care for it, you can say may i suggest that you do so and so, but if the person likes the way it is and if the crowd likes the way it is and if they still win contest etc then fine. There better than you and they made the right call, you tell them what to change and they lose, then your only out for yourself during these times people like you cannot be trusted :)this is not an attack against you its just a warning mind your own art you got an issue with others then leave them alone now if you offer and they accept then sure go ahead, dont just to bust in and say you did this and this wrong do better, they try, you do the same thing there moral goes down. in the end your only destroying competition and i do like nuclear kittens

also yea i play the game to but hey this might inspire ccp to make a new faction or what not big deal if they win they win

First off you are a horrible judge of intention.

My intention is to HELP other folks gain an competitive edge they need to win.

This artist has potential, but its misused for the competition for the moment. I can easily write a page long essay on what is wrong with the design and things that can be improved with the artwork he submitted and thats excluding eve online factors. Also detailing every bit he needs to fix goes against my policy of hand holding as I expect artist to be able to develope thier own conclusions. If he requests it I can interate on the weak points I've pointed out and let him build the strong points he needs. This will preserve the style he has developed and giving it the most bang for the buck.

Also, this is not just about me its about the eve community I'm part of and spent a good three years investing into, and Im one of several representives from that community and one of the few acutally sharing the lighter end of that concensus from it.

If you look at some of these entries from outside of DA there are some good ones entirely getting destroyed by the eve community because they consider it a massive insult to consider the ship at all let alone fly. Would you pay 1 billion isk for a blue print of this? Would pay the 100 million to fly it? would you spend the countless hours to learn how to fly it, and countless many more on mastering its use? Would you be a proud owner of this ship? The answer to this specific ship would be no. The imicus is clear proof of this concept as its the same ship functionally as a magnate yet you'll find very fews covert ops pilot willing to fly the mordern imicus due sheer anti-aesetic value.

There are entries I DONT even bother replying or promoting because they're beyond help and consideration or havent caught my attention yet.

Also finally I find it awful you are using this poor artist as a bullet shield from me and you should be ashamed of yourself. So in turn this is for you, I highly doubt you played long enough to know ccp's slow methodical growth in story and development, and you're probably one of those guys that posts an idea in FnI and gets shredding into tiny peices its beyond eve reasoning. CCP has yet to add a major new significant faction in seven years, why would they start now? and despite contrary to popular belife any new faction set of ships they may introduce already had concept art from year one.

Also despite that fact any new ship introduced into existing factions STILL has that touch of eve in it.

Finally you cant seem to read constructive critism very well.

Composition is an extremly important part of anything drawn its a nice long complicated subject as well that varies from topic to topic and that artist need to reverse engineer for themselves. Its the placement and arrangment of material to make itself more convincing to what it is. Poor composition creates confusing designs and on a spaceship the strongest compositions would be the Bridge, weapons (if any) engines sensors the sorts, the important parts. Stronger the composition the more likely anyone even a non sci fi nut can relate that hey' thats a spaceship.

I suffer bad composition based off bad lighting diffusion which can make something seem to 'simple', this in effect makes it harder to convince or seems to lack detail sometimes and makes it harder on me on convincing the material (metal spectral mapping still eludes me)

Our friendly artistan's ship here suffers from it from detail overexposure, this dillutes and takes away everything that makes the ship and in the end makes it a headache to look at. Looking at this in thumbnail I cannot pinpoint anything on the ship or even what direction it flies. There is absolutly no need to draw every nut and bolt unless you want to empasize that plate or part specifically.

A true master of composition can command where you eyes travel on the object allowing you to read its intention and take it for full and you will never question what it is.

Dynamics I've mentioned, is basically the difference between rough paper and smooth paper, and like composition is a lengthy subject that boils down understanding dynamics intentions and applied with your own thoery to it and applying as much as you need or want. The one thing dynamics does it gives your art that much more of your signature and soul and people can easily look at it and say thats definetly that person work. Poor dynamics lets artist get lost in the common conudurm.

Your warning also falls on burnt ears. People have burned my artwork in the past and when I mean burned I mean entirely hindenburged it with a nuclear implosion. Which is another clear indication you may not be a minor part in the eve community to matter enough. Yet, I rise from the ashes and try to make my next artwork a bit more fireproofed, my ship in the contest is probably the first ship yet to get burned by anyone even the usual arsonist had little to say bad about it, and thats from the eve community, many have expressed they would want a ship like this, they love the colors the design the feel and function and even though its unique styling that seperates it from most factions it still has the touch of eve in it.

To Jacob,
Im sorry you have to deal with this mess but if you want to gleam some of the knowledge Ive gained from being burnt drop me a line ill be happy to share a bit more in ways you can use it to your best benifit.
