I've always liked Back to the Future, so here's my slightly darker take on the BTTF universe... it's obviously far from canon, but if I had to place it somewhere in the BTTF universe, it would somewhere around 2016 or so, assuming of course the movie's 2015 was pushed out to 2035 or so since we present day is clearly far from the film's future advances *lame*. Setup and rendered in Vue 6 Infinite, postwork in Photoshop CS6. Thanks for looking! :)

Amazing! Would you consider an offer? I'm thinking about making a poster out of this image to put on my living room!

Great work on the details. And believe me don't bother with the time-paradox details...

It isn't uncommon for there to be alternate versions of a specific year,
which is so totally different from how it is SUPPOSE to be, or how we idealize it.

(such as the Biff Tannen controlled "Hell Valley" of 1985,
or, the Police State Hill Valley of 1986 run by Edna Strickland)

It stands to reason that while this is the REAL timeline for us..
in the BTTF Universe, it's jusr another "Nightmare Alternate Timeline" that Marty and Doc would want to alter.

Knowing them, they'd hit the library,
and, study the WHEN, WHERE and HOW it all happened..so they can change it.

That is the main reason Doc keeps the Time Machine: To ensure everyone's future is brighter.

The irony...he has Mr. Fusion, but there's no garbage...only rubble.  And...plutonium is available in every corner drugstore.

the brushed steel on the car is really lovely. Nice job. You say its far from canon, but dont forget the alternate future created by Biff in BTTF2, this could easily fit within that scenario. Nice work, LOVE IT

I think it's a very nice idea, and to be honest, given the affinity displayed in Hollywood for remakes, it's only going to be a matter of time until they touch BTTF. I'm willing to bet. So, if they remake it, it would be very much a good thing, to make it a little grittier, a little more realistic (within the defined parameters of its original storyline) and a little more to our now known future.

All that aside; very well done! Love the details.

Oh please don't give them any ideas, it's bad enough they are remaking Robocop. I don't want to live in a world with a BTTF remake. It'll be like Biff's 1985, riots in the streets lol.

I'm definitely no fan of remakes, but since they are unavoidable I'm trying to hope for the best! ;)

Awesome picture :D
I've always loved BTTF but it's so sad the way Marty loses his whole family, sure they had better lives, but Marty had zero shared experiences with them growing up, they were essentially strangers that just looked like people he knew.... kind of depressing :(

I never thought of it that way. I'm sure some basic things will be the same, but for the most part their tastes and experiences derived from those tastes will be very different. It is sad really.

Doc Brown: When you turned on the flux capacitor, did you speak the words?
Marty: Yeah, basically.
Doc Brown: Did you speak the exact words?
Marty: Look, maybe I didn't say every single little tiny syllable, no. But basically I said them, yeah.

This would make an interesting side story to the BTTF series.  Someone should make a novel based off of this idea! I'd love to read it!
